Helpful Hint: Celebrate the Year of the Snake

Celebrate the Year of the Snake

The first day of the Chinese, or Lunar New Year begins on the first new moon that appears between Jan. 21 and Feb. 20. The Chinese calendar assigns an animal, and its associated personality traits, to each year based on the Chinese zodiac cycle.

This Chinese New Year marks the year of the Snake.

I was born in the year of the rat. We rats are supposedly quick-witted, resourceful, versatile, and kind. Here’s a link to find out what animal is associated with the year that you, and your loved one were born.

Do the personality traits ring true?

Is there an animal with which you identify even more?

We invite you to visit our holidays channel where you will find two videos that will help you celebrate the Chinese New Year with us, and with someone you love.

📣 Subscriber Shout-Out: Brian

"I am so happy to have found Zinnia TV. I am a Dementia Careblazers member and found it by watching your interview with Dr. Natali.

The very first time my wife watched it, who has dementia, she calmed down immediately and was fine for the rest of the day. We are able to talk while watching it. That does not happen with regular TV. The next time she watched it she exclaimed 'this is wonderful'.

Thank you for your great idea."

–Brian, thanks so much for joining the Zinnia family and sharing about your positive experience with your sweet wife. We hope that Zinnia continues to bring you joy and ease.

✅ Allyson’s Weekly Care Tips:

We love Dementia Careblazers and think you will too!

Sticking with the theme of celebration, I’d like to also take a moment to celebrate that Dr. Natali Edmonds is out there in the world to help dementia caregivers build the skills needed to provide the best possible care for both themselves and the person they support. Her free, Dementia Careblazer’s YouTube channel is pure gold for those wishing to better understand the lived experience of a person living with dementia, and how to support them with dignity and grace. She also offers live support calls for people wishing to join a supportive community where you can ask questions specific to your caregiving experience.

I had the amazing good fortune of being Dr. Natali’s guest on a recent podcast, for which I am extremely grateful. We so rarely get to connect one-on-one with our heroes!

Following the release of that podcast quite a few Dementia Careblazers learned about, and signed up for a free trial of Zinnia. Like Brian, who shared with us about his experience watching Zinnia with his sweet wife.

We’d like to welcome our newest subscribers who learned about Zinnia from the Dementia Cateblazers podcast. Thank you for including Zinnia in your caregiving toolkit.

Take good care!
